Enjoy the Ice Cream and Desserts Fair @ Eastwood Mall

Eastwood City never fails to surprise me.  Eastwood City vacation living is always an adventure.  This week, in the most unlikely place, I discovered very wise advise.

Life is short, eat dessert first!

Life is short, eat dessert first!

I’ve always instinctively known this, so I eat my dessert first.  Also during the meal, and also after.  But that is another story.

This week, Eastwood City Mall featured the Ice Cream and Desserts Fair, a small but goodie-filled collection of dessert kiosks.  I’d normally go around tasting every freebie dessert, but I sort of felt guilty ( after consuming gazillions of calories at Gillian Gail Dessert Buffet last Sunday, and capping  my Thursday evening seafood buffet dinner at Tong Yang Megamall with sixteen scoops of ice cream), so we had to settle for gelato ( two scoops for each of us).\

Let’ let the pictures tell you more.

Gillian Gail Dessert Buffet

Five minutes away from Eastwood, in Katipunan Ave, in front of Ateneo de Manila University, you’d find Gillian Gail Desset Buffer. At P299 per person, inclusive of coffee, tea, and unlimited ice cream, it is a terrific bargain.  Add P20 for bottomless iced tea, or add P100 for dessert inspited rice toppings.

But let me rave about this in as few words as possible ( and with each picture worth a thousand words ).

Cookies, pretzels, cupcake and assorted bites

Round 1 with  cookies, pretzels, cupcake and tasty bites.

Dessert cups with nuts, chocolates and fruit preserves

Round 2 consisted of dessert cups with nuts, chocolates, and fruit preserves,

Fruits - Watermelon, apple, papaya and kiwi!

Round 3 is a healthy mix of assorted fruits – papaya, watermelon, apple and kiwi

I was with the family, so we did share some stuff: crispy palitaw, banana bread, creme brulee and turon.  The crispy palitaw was superb, but the serving was too large for a buffet place,

Nachos with cheese and Jalapeno

The nachos were light and crispy, and I thoroughly enjoyed the cheese and Jalapeno

Chocolate cake

There were several cake choices.  I was full already, but who could resist a slice of moist chocolate cake?

Four-of-six-scoops

I always end a buffet with at least six scoops of ice cream.  Here’s four of my six ( Selecta vanila and Selecta Super Chocolate) scoops.  There were lots of topping options, but I didn’t use any, because I remembered I’m on a diet!

And my pinipig crunch.

round-8-cornetto

And finally, my Choco-Hazelnut Cornetto.

A bargain at P299!
